I missed your big day -- MFTWSC132 -- CTD250 -- & 4 other challenges

Hi Everyone!!
Today marks my blog's 3 month mark!!
WOW!  That went by quickly!

This birthday card is for my blogger friend, Darnell, who had her birthday on July 2nd.
(But, I didn't learn of this info until July 6th!!)
Her card is now in the mail and on it's way to sunny California!!

I hate that I missed her big day, so I thought a belated birthday card with my very favorite Turtle Girl would be perfect!!

Here are a few things that you didn't know about my older daughter...
When she was born she had broken collar bone as a birth trauma.
She had to wear long sleeves and have her sleeve pinned to her shirt to keep her arm down
& I'll tell ya... it was as heartbreaking as it was a pain in the butt.
Hot Carolina heat made her so unhappy in a long sleeved shirt and she would stretch and stretch her neck to try and get away from the pinned shirt, but it didn't do her any good.
She looked just like a turtle stretching it's neck out of it's shell.

That was when "Turtle Girl" was born.
She had that nickname for weeks, which turned into months and then it just stuck.
When I saw the image from Jennifer Nilsson's Doodle Garden from MFT I knew that I had to have it!
If you haven't checked out these adorable images you can find them right here @ MFT.

The Color Throwdown is celebrating it's 5 year anniversary!!
Wooooo hooooo!!!

I'm also entering this card into Marker Pop #26 and the above birthday card challenges.

Berry Patch Ellie -- YNSFFC02

This is Post #2 Today --If you are looking for BLD, please click HERE.

Hi there!!
I have had this card sitting on my desk since before the 4th of July...
yep, that was when things got a little crazy around here!!
I thought it was about time that I blogged it...
I left off the sentiment because I LOVE strawberries and
I have a bunch of strawberry stamp sets
so it can be used for:
Thank you Berry Much
You are a Berry good friend
You are Berry sweet...
LOLOL
I think you get the idea...
This card is for the YNS challenge this month which uses a sketch and/or an inspiration pic!
You get to choose!!
For this card I chose the sketch.
Here's the sketch:
Thankfully, I did notice that the YNS design team did use banner flags of all sizes
on their cards & I was glad for that... I didn't want to cover all
of my cute strawberry patterned paper.

Also... Since it was a super busy paper, I left off the surrounding embellies from the sketch.
I did stamp and die cut a few strawberries, but they were overwhelming on this very teeny card/image.

Stamp: Berry Patch Ellie from YNS (might be retired)
Paper: Lawn Fawn pink lemonade
Card Stock: Lemon Drop: MFT
Banner flags & layers: MFT
Circle STAX: MFT
Ink: Copics

Thanks for stopping by!

Hope you will join us this Saturday for a fun blog hop in honor of
NATIONAL LOLLIPOP DAY!!!
There will be fun, inspiration and PRIZES!!  Woot!  Woot!!

Counting the Days... Until the Beach! BLD -- CTD250 -- TPE207 -- CANDY WINNERS

Hi there!! Hope you had a GREAT weekend!
Mine was pretty average -- nothing to write home about...
We are already counting down the days til our last beach trip of the summer...
So, I thought this card would be fun!
It's BEACH GIRL, HANNAH from By Lori Designs.

I had it in my head and it needed a little bit of working and re-working!
Kraft is soooooo totally out of my comfort zone -- it's not even funny!!!
I need everything to be BRIGHT and CHEERY!
So, white is my go-to color of choice!!!
But, sand is not white... LOL

This card is dedicated to my card making buddy, Amanda
who has always been a great extra set of eyes & has great opinions!!
It helps that we are both very OCD and very particular!!
Tee hee!!  Love ya, girl!!   xo

This card started with the inspiration from The Pink Elephant challenge #207 for this week to use wood grain paper.  (Which is practically in every stack!!) So... I was excited to use some of it!!
The Color Throwdown is near and dear to my heart, I mean it really is!!
I started my blog just so that I could play along with the Color Throwdown!
(It's true!!  You can check my very first post!)
This week over @ My Creative Time they challenged us to make a square card...well that was super easy for me.   Almost all of my cards are square!!
I'm also entering this card into Marker Pop #26 for this week.

I colored her with copics and used some fun stamps and dies to add interest to my card.
For the sand, I used shell stamps and matching ink to the card stock for tone on tone shells.
I used the specific Stampin' Up ink colors from the Throwdown, but they do look a little darker on the crumb cake card stock.  All card stock is Stampin' Up, as well.

HAPPY TUESDAY to YOU!!!
It's time for By Lori Designs Tuesday Inspiration
and we have summer themed cards for you this week.
(This is Post 3 of 3 for today!)
To see the 2nd post of the day, also for By Lori Designs, please click here.

Our family takes beach trips to Wild Dunes in the summer and they are always a great time!!
They have a little boardwalk with a t-shirt shop/surf shop (with tons of beach balls in the window),
an ice cream shop, houses, etc... and this year there was also a SNO CONE vendor!
My girls were over the moon excited about it!

I'm not sure they had ever had a Sno Cone before, but they have now!
They even asked the man if they could mix colors and flavors to make a new color.
So much fun!!

I hope you like my card for your Inspiration Tuesday over at BLD!
Hop on over to see the rest of the DT's super fun summer creations!!

Here is a close-up of the sweet girl, Maxie.

I am also linking up with Marker Pop for this week's challenge #26.

Here's a pic of my girls on the boardwalk on the way to the pool.

Thank you, thank you!!

Well... Can you believe it?!!?
I am now designing for Lori Boyd at By Lori Designs and that just has me super excited...(& grateful!!)
She emailed me last week on Wednesday and asked if I would like to join her team.
It took my under 90 seconds to email her back!!
I then proceeded to scream at the top of my lungs for quite a while waking up one of my girls and alarming them both!!   They were both jumping up and down with me once I explained what had happened.   Then they asked me, "Is that the lady with the puddle jumpers?" LOL, yes it is!!
Here is my favorite Lori Boyd character, Ella,
with a special message from me to Lori and to my friend, Tina, as well.
(I know that the super big hearted Lori won't mind that this card is dedicated to 2 people.  She is a sweetheart like that!)

Thanks for believing in me, Lori!! I won't let you down!!
I will design my heart out and give crafty love to all of your adorable characters!!
I really appreciate the opportunity!!
I am so so so grateful!!!
Big Hugs!!!

Thanks for believing in me, Tina!!
You were one of my first followers on day 1 of my blog
and are usually the first to comment on most of my posts.
It makes me smile to know that you look forward to my blog as much as I do.
Thank you for encouraging me every day with your comments and messages.
You told me that a DT position was just around the corner and now here we are!
I am so happy that you are home from the hospital today & able to share my joy!!

This cutie patootie digi stamp is Puddle Jumper Valentine Ella ($3.00) and you can find her in Lori's digi shop under the Holidays category on the left hand sidebar.
If you are new to digital stamp images this is a great place to start!
The thing I love most about digis is that you can size them for whatever you need -- from cards to scrapbook pages, gift tags and more!  I also love that I can print them out on regular copy paper and have my girls color them with me!!

Please check out my next post of the day and my FIRST card for BLD TUESDAY INSPIRATION!!

I started coloring this adorable image from the doodle garden the other night (the very same night that MFT launched their new releases!!!) and I had to put this one on hold so that I could do my 2 DT cards, but I finally finished it last night just in time for the Wednesday stamp club deadline.
Thank goodness!!

This card is based on a photo shoot that my girls did that holds a very special place in my heart.
It was a time of pure joy, putting their feet into the ocean for the first time in the early evening when the sun was setting.
They had the best time and the pics were amazing!
Pics below...

BIG BIG NEWS!!!! -- It's Time to Celebrate! -- YNSFFC01 -- CTD249 -- TPE206

Hi Everyone!!!
Happy 4th of July!!!
I have some BIG BIG news!!!
Yesterday, I received an email asking me to join the design team of one of my very FAVORITE companies!!!  I was so thrilled and can't wait to reveal who it is, but I can't yet...
(I forgot to ask if it was ok to reveal!!  LOL)
So... just be patient with me and I will announce it ASAP!!

Today's card started like this...
I saw the inspiration pic @ the Pink Elephant which made me think of 4th of July cake pops, which led me to my YNS cutie Cake Pop Fhiona.   I used the Color Throwdown colors for this week because
my besties know that I really don't like red (unless it is paired with teal or turquoise!!) so I was excited & LUCKY to see their palette this week for the 4th of July!  YIPEEE!!!
Simon Says "Patriotic" this week and that's just fine with me!!
I followed the recipe from Designed to Color #15.

I'd also like to mention that YNS has a new style of challenge like Fusion where you can use the sketch, the inspiration pic, or both!!  TOO FUN!!!  I LOVE challenges like that!!

Ok, "It's Time to Celebrate"!!!!!
Here's what we are celebrating this week:  4th of July, my new opportunity with an amazing group of ladies (SQUEAL!!!!), & Stacey's birthday over @ the Stamping Stage!!
Grab some cake and join us!!!

Happy Birthday to Stacey over @ the Stampin' Stage!
Hope you will join me in making her a birthday card for her big day!!
